I would like to tell you about a non-profit that my mom created to help me and eventually other children. I have incurred many medical bills and expenses during the 2 years of my life. We have great insurance, but still there are many bills that are 'left over' after insurance pays. We have to go to Stanford in Palo Alto, CA once a month which costs quite a bit, too. My mom started this non-profit to help kids and families like ours, families that need a little help once in a while to cover costs of prescriptions, travel expenses, medical needs, etc.
The board's vision for the non-profit will be to have annual fund raisers such as walk-a-thons, golf-a-thons, etc., things to raise money for the community and their children. They are very excited with some fun ideas that they have and hope to start some 'bigger' projects next year. Right now they are trying to get through my transplant and then start giving back to Churchill County and surrounding areas.

Alison's Pantry Fund Raiser
A fund raiser that my mom has been doing for a few months is thru her at-home business called Alison's Pantry. It's a monthly catalog that you can order things from such as bulk frozen foods (like Sam's Club), spices, mixes (such as muffin, pancakes, cakes, cookies), food storage items, kitchen utensils, etc. How this works is pretty simple. You place an order one month and then the next month it gets shipped to our house where you then would come pick it up and pay for the items.
If you'd like to look at some of their products you can check out their website at http://www.alisonspantry.com/ . If you'd like my mom to mail you a catalog, give her a call at 867-4610 or email her at amylords@gmail.com . (Here name is Amy) It's really good food! My favorites are the chicken nuggets, tator tots and their soups. My mom really likes their spices and mixes. Oh! I also like their donuts! We make those a lot! YUMMY!

Welcome to My Blog
Hello! My name is Daniel Lords and I have a great story to tell! I was born in December 2005. A few months later I was diagnosed with urine in the kidneys and kidney failure. I have been working with wonderful doctors in California at Stanford's Lucille Packard Children's Hospital. I have now begun the process of being accepted to receive a new kidney. So within a few months, (if we find a donor) I could be having a kidney transplant. Otherwise, I will be on "the list".
Let me tell you about my family. (If you haven't read my profile.) I have a twin named Sammy. I am 2 minutes older than he is. I also have 4 older brothers named: Ryan (7), Comptyn (6), Bryce (4) and Nathan (4). My daddy is the principal at Churchill Jr. High. He is also in the middle of his doctrate degree at UNR and was recently called to serve as Bishop of our church. (leader of our congregation.) My mommy stays at home with all of us boys. She has an at home business that is a non-profit for me and eventually for other children with medical needs.
When I get my transplant, I have to stay in Palo Alto, California for atleast 3 months so they can monitor my progress. I want my family to come visit me and with daddy and mommy going back and forth to Fallon, Nevada so much, plus living in CA, it is going to be very expensive. I have some wonderful friends who have offered to help my family by organizing some fundraising activities. This blog has been created so you can read about those and learn a little bit about me and my family.
